Bronzed and Beautiful

Muldooneys of London at The Museum of Bags and Purses

20th July 2012 We are great fans of the Tassen Museum in Amsterdam (Eyestylist 16th August 2011) and we are delighted to report about a new exhibition opening on 7 August. Old-school glamour merges with a modern twist from Muldooneys of London, with bags and purses that will be on display in the elegant canal side building where the museum is located. Muldooneys founder and creative director Marlene Naicker studies for an executive MBA at The London College of Fashion. Now the business is based in Amsterdam, and all bags are made by hand. The Thera Weekender (above) in rich bronze tones is subtly luxurious, and pairs well with autumn fashions. Naicker finds the classic simplicity of designers Coco Chanel and Elsa Schiapereli, along with the pioneering style adventures of Diana Vreeland and Grace Coddington, to be a continuing source inspiration for her bags.

Cat Eye Chic – Angel No 7 by Francis Klein

Coordinate the lush bronze mood with surperb frames from Francis Klein, in a sensuous cat eye shape, with a two-dimensional effect.  The marvellous versatility of acetate is beautifully expressed in this graceful frame. www.tassenmuseum.nl www.francisklein.com  www.muldooneys.com JG
