The Italian footwear brand launches chic sunnies
A new collaboration between the luxury Italian eyewear brand L.G.R – by Luca Gnecchi Ruscone – and Italian shoe label presents a fresh summer design – with colours and finishes inspired by the classic Superga Canvas shoe. For those who admire the chic Italian style – and wish to celebrate the joys of summer, the collab frames offer an easy, wearable shape (with sizes suited to men and women) in the distinctive black and ecru colour palette. Above: the new capsule is based around the iconic Jambo shape at L.G.R, with details inspired by Superga’s Canvas Shoe and messaging on the inside of the frame: “Together to celebrate an Italian summer”.
Material selection remains at the core of L.G.R and its unique designs. This latest edition is carefully handcrafted from cellulose acetate – used for its inherent durability and flexibility allowing the frames to adapt to the wearer’s face over time. Furthermore, each frame is created by skilled artisans using traditional methods of production, in order to deliver an authentic and durable product. For this collaboration with Superga, the finish of the front of the Jambo was achieved through a natural thermal opacification process called sandblasting, preserving the quality of the cellulose acetate and giving it a modern twist.
