Viveur, Italy – Cannes glasses in the Heritage collection
The Italian independent brand Viveur’s new models in the Heritage collection point to a fresh revisiting of true vintage aesthetics. Many brands of eyewear are doing it, recreating the style and substance of some of those old-school styles and re-imagining them to feel light and comfortable as well as on-trend to wear with style and elegance. In this context, details such as a simple key hole bridge design are sought after while angular shapes and thick rims in cellulose acetate (deriving from wood pulp and cotton) bring an old-school quality and finish, thanks to the soft, smooth surfaces and an ever widening choice of elegant signature colorways. This particular panto frame with a flattened top section features an 8mm thick front piece, and has visible riveted gold hinges. To add comfort and stability, the temple ends have been designed with grip using a texture in the acetate. All other finishing is done by Italian artisans in the Cadore, the spectacle-making region of Italy where old factories continue to produce frames with specialist processes as well as traditional workmanship by hand. Cannes is now available in dark havana, black or honey. To see more about the Cannes frames visit: https://en.viveureyewear.com/product-page/cannes-c02-dark-avana
