Ellington

A-Morir by Kerin Rose

A-Morir has had some fantastic press for S/S 2012, as the decorative elements of the sunglasses look exquisite with details in fabrics, appliques and the season’s florals. This style, Ellington, is not one that has been seen as much as some of Kerin Rose’s other creations, but it’s one that I adore. The ultimate in jewellery embellishment on sunwear with a couture approach, the design is perfectly in tune with trends in jewellery that for now continue to shout loudly, promoting sparkle and statement. A look with gems that should have its entry in eyewear history. www.a-morir.com CN

The Magic Hour/Trésor Trois

Sama Eyewear

Lighting is always the mantra for painters – as Rembrandt and Vermeer exhibited so magnificently in their tableau. Lighting is also the essence of this glamorous Limited Edition frame by Shelia Vance at Sama Eyewear in California. Created in palladium, with 14k white gold temples that are gracefully feminine, gems of Peridot and Amethyst are handset on the sides. The Magic Hour is a luxurious and sophisticated frame statement for today’s modern women. www.samaeyewear.net JG

Surya

REIZ

I first saw these sunglasses in Paris, in a showroom on Place des Vosges last year…..it was an amazingly sunny day, music playing, and  the Reiz frames were looking pretty exciting…Surya is one of a collection using graduated colour in an inspired way…the styles in the range, men’s and women’s alike, echo just what the small but fabulous German Reiz brand is all about…individuality, simplicity, serious style, and 100% quality…it is a super idea if you don’t know what to get for your statement piece this season! www.reiz.net  CN

Lotho Paris

Starting our choice of contemporary frames for April, with eye-catching vintage overtones…..

Snappy red and white merge amicably in superbly polished acetate from Lotho. I saw this frame in Milan, and was attracted to its graceful shape, with volume at the temples – retro harmony meets modernity. Lotho was established in Paris four years ago, and has created a strong buzz with their beautiful collections, handmade in Japan, emphasising fine design with technology and luscious colours. www.lotho.fr JG
