An activewear frame for cycling and running enthusiasts – the sport sunglasses have been spotted on Ryan Gosling

With its unique take on the classic navigator design, the collaboration design from Article One x Mission Workshop offers a cool timeless design, with hidden advantages for use during sport. Handcrafted in Italy, the aim was to create an extremely versatile accessory that can seamlessly transition from day-to-day activities to intense athletic pursuits.

The sunglasses boast performance-driven elements highlighted by a TR-90 polymer construction — a durable, lightweight and hypoallergenic material. The frame also features technical details such as Italian polarised CR39 lenses that block 100% of UVA/UVB rays and prevent road glare, adjustable silicone nose pads and rubber temple tips for grip and hold, backside anti-reflective lens coating and spring hinges. The style is currently available in Green Tortoise, Vintage Crystal, Black Marble and Purple Tortoise.

Lamarca Eyewear: natural sparkle in Ceselli range

The acetate frames in the Ceselli collection at Lamarca sparkle naturally thanks to an intriguing artisan technique more commonly applied in jewellery

Named after an artisan technique involving particular workmanship in jewellery (“ceselli” means “chiselled” in Italian), the Ceselli collection by Lamarca Eyewear features sophisticated acetate designs worked by hand to create minute 3-dimensional “sculpted” patterns across the acetate surfaces. Referred to as the “Diamantatura” technique, and using tools which feature sharp diamonds, the result of the work is so precise and detailed that no further subsequent polishing of the frames is required once the work has been completed. Colours – and colour combinations – for each frame are selected to enhance the final “brilliance” of the surfaces, which sparkle naturally as if they were embedded with crystals – in both light and dark colours. Above: in the Ceselli collection by Lamarca Eyewear, model 129 offers a 3-toned rounded eye shape with the surface technique decorating the upper section – the frame is also available in a chic black. a lilac and the peach/lilac combination below

The latest models in the line are characterised by fresh elegant translucent colours including 3-tone combinations and single blocked tones which are on-trend this season such as red and bright blue. The particularly flattering shapes featured include a cats eye (137), a soft rectangular eye shape with a curved top line (113) and a round eye shape with a slightly angular or geometric-inspired outer edge (129) – all designs for women that combine timeless design inspiration and elements that are currently popular – particularly via the unique colour stories.

The Ceselli collection is one of several families of frames at Lamarca Eyewear, the eyewear brand by the Italian manufacturer, Trisottica – a company that has been honing its expertise in specialist techniques through three decades. In the Lamarca collection, this has allowed a high degree of innovation and artisanal design creativity and the possibility of developing a completely distinctive stylistic identity for the frames. RES/REI: the Sculptures Collection

In the Spring / Summer 2024 collection by the Italian label, highlights include the glamorous models in the Sculptures Collection with its new coloured Havanas and elegant bilayer materials combined with classical tones – inspired by the light effects at twilight

Previewed at Mido in February, the Italian label has introduced three new sunglass models to their Sculpture family: Moonlight, Rainbow, and Nightfall. These models stay true to the Sculptures family’s distinctive style, featuring prominently faceted fronts that accentuate the bilayer materials. Each model has been uniquely designed to capture the essence of artificial neon landscapes, displaying colour combinations inspired by “the stunning interplay of light and reflections seen during twilight transitions”.Above: Moonlight by RES/REI in the Sculptures Collection – pictured in green Havana with a contrasting reddish Havana – the frame also comes in a delicate gradient pink, brown tortoise and black marble

Detail: the square model Nightfall in the Sculptures Collection by RES/REI – pictured in grey / purple with gradient grey lens

The Moonlight sunglasses embody the soft hues of night turning into day, while model Rainbow is imagined as a reflection of the spectrum of light just as the sun rises or sets. Model Nightfall captures the deep, mysterious tones of day surrendering to night, the designers explained.

The bold sculpted feel of the frames has been achieved by enhancing the three-dimensionality of the acetate on the front and back of the frame. By using this process, the layering of the different patterns in the acetate is immediately eye-catching.

RES/REI is an independent Italian design company based in Treviso, Northern Italy. To find out more about the new sun and optical collections for Spring / Summer 2024, visit www.resrei.com

Italian eyewear brand L.G.R has arrived in Paris!

The Italian eyewear brand has added a Paris-based boutique

L.G.R, the Italian artisan brand founded by Luca Gnecchi Ruscone, has arrived in Paris, with a stand-alone store in a privileged position in the Marais in Rue du Temple. The company already has five stores in Italy in Rome (St. Peter’s and Piazza di Spagna), Milan, Florence and Venice, and the Paris opening represents its inaugural store abroad. The interior design is in keeping with these existing stores in Italy, with statement details, furniture and fittings that represent the heritage of the brand, and design features inspired by the founder’s grandfather’s store Ottica Bini and its original location in Eritrea. Above: exterior of the new branded stand-alone L.G.R store in Paris, France
