Pepe

Götti Switzerland

Sun Pepe was my favourite among the re-launch of the “P-Serie Sunglasses” unveiled by Götti at Opti Munich. The handsome, timeless aviator in titanium features a curved double bridge – a strong trend, particularly in men’s eyewear. The 360° swivelling temples means that the frames fold easily and are very compact. In palladium and black, Pepe is certainly a stunner. www.gotti.ch JG

Katida

Vera Wang Sunwear / Salon Spring/Summer 2012

This is one of a few favourite labels from the US. A bold silhouette in smooth acetate, Katida is an exemplary style in the Vera Wang Salon collection for Spring/Summer 2012. Each of the acetate styles in this group are oversized, with features from the 1950s and a touch of Hollywood glamour. Katida is available in tortoise, black, brown or rose, subtly muted tones which are typical here. The style has an effective graduated colour scheme through the front of the frame and  will bring instant elegance to everyday style. CN

Kjled T

Orgreen

Both classic and modern aesthetics distinguish the fluid shape of these sunglasses from Orgreen in warm chocolate brown. Danish design techniques are evident in the smooth matt titanium frame, with characteristics that include the broad nosepieces, an expansive frame shape, and enlarged sides. Lightweight yet sturdy, the frames are very comfortable to wear, while providing the necessary fashion and protective elements of quality sunglasses. The frames are also available in a beautiful, soft blue. www.orgreen.com JG

Elektra and Phines

Mykita & Kostas Murkudis

Experimentation with colours, materials, laser and new print technologies are the focus here…there is a play on the contrast between “natural” and “artificial”, with specific materials selected that are more usual in the world of sport and swimwear. Laser techniques are used to produce a Moire effect in the material. The frames are made of stainless steel, with an unusual texture etched into it giving it a totally new feel. As well as a statement gold version there are these interesting Charcoal tile/dark blue and Pearl tile/light blue options. Very accomplished designs with attitude from this now very popular Berlin-based brand. CN

The Monte Carlo Collection, Beausoleil

Frédéric Beausoleil is passionate about  acetate. For nearly a quarter of a century, he has transformed this material into glamorous eyewear with his creative ingenuity and reverence for tradition. His latest collection – The Monte Carlo – is a selection of stunning sunglasses in sensuously smooth acetate. The design above, is a distinctive creation in lemon with an intricate mix of tortoise/lemon for contrast, exclusive colours to Beausoleil. Modernity and timeless, faultless elegance are expressed in the gracious shape. All lenses are polarized for effective sun protection. www.beausoleil.fr JG
