Miela

Vera Wang

At Silmo, Clodagh and I were impressed with the sunglass collection by fashion and eyewear designer Vera Wang. Shown above is Miela – in three stunning variations. Italian acetates team with stainless steel – in a black and gold version; plus orange and cream; and my favourite, crystal with cappuccino. The distinctive nose bridge accent is a stainless steel metal clip. Handmade in Italy, the frames are chic and elegant – like Vera’s sought after clothing designs! www.kenmarkooptical.com JG

Cygnus

Feb31st

Designed for men or women, Cygnus is an aviator by the young Italian label Feb 31st which produces trendy frames in wood. The frames are made up of 13 wood layers laminated together, and colour options are endless; you can even have lots of different coloured layers combined to create an exciting multicoloured effect. At present, the growth of wood labels is noticeable in the eyewear world and Feb31st is doing much to create a youthful natural collection that revisits the qualities of wood such as softness and lightness, while exploring its potential in colour. www.feb31st.it CN

Leisure Society

Elegance, refinement and luxury epitomize this beautiful design from Leisure Society. Precious materials – an 18K gold frame and buffalo horn temple inserts – create an exceptional eyewear concept that is graceful, and exudes subtle, charismatic chic with its lovely matt and gloss two-tone effect. Titanium and acetate accentuate the side pieces. The colours are luxurious as well — Gold/tortoise (above) plus silver/black and silver/smoke. Further details at www.leisure-society.com JG

Big Wheel

Tortoise Trends by l.a. eyeworks

Tortoise is an all-time favourite, and it’s lovely to see that it is enjoying a fashionable renaissance. l.a. eyeworks has done a marvellous interpretation of tortoise with Big Wheel – an epic play of marble against tortoise. There is a feeling of volume in the design, yet a minimalist aura prevails as well. The high quality acetate ensures a frame of fantastic quality and beauty. www.laeyeworks.com JG
