Henry Holland for Le Specs

Muffin Top comes from a fun, new limited edition collection of sunglasses (18 styles) by English designer Henry Holland for Australian brand Le Specs. Lots of round shapes and references to “brow shapes and eyelashes” feature (such as the Hoodies which the fashion press have selected as a favourite) as well as a 1980s/90s vintage theme. I like the sense of adventure in as much as there are some new shapes and looks that are totally unique to this Collection. Muffin Top is a unisex model like many of the styles in the line, and our favourite colour choices are the black (pictured) and transparent. Anna-Karin Karlsson

I introduced one of of Anna’s designs in May, and I can’t resist showing this one too. Anna was first attracted to sunglasses when she tried on a style by iconic eyewear creator, Christian Roth. Anna has worked for some time designing bespoke luxury frames for a list of private clients including a few celebrity ones. ‘Rose et La Mer’ has caught the imagination of fashion editors with its super luxury design and asymmetrical lounging leopard. Graz

From “down under” in Australia, Graz Mulcahy creates edgy, distinctive eyewear. It’s always an adventure to view his collections at the eyewear shows. He believes in statement frames – designs that are bold and distinguished. Experimenting with the unusual is something that he particularly enjoys – such as the sunglasses shown above in matte acetate. The frame is handmade, blasted with a very fine sand to create a non-reflective surface. After the blasting, the matt is left untreated, which allows the frame to take on its own character. With wear, the frame becomes slightly darker in different areas, which Graz likens to what happens to jeans.
