Unusual colour combinations are a feature in Spring collections, and one of my personal choices is this tri-colour design from Blue Magic Eye. Deep aubergine is the key colour, enhanced with lovely soft lilac, and turquoise temple tips. The frame shape in smooth acetate fuses a touch of retro with modern concepts. In a short period of time, design duo Guya Montermini and Ciro Tugnoli have established themselves as a dynamic force in creative eyewear style. www.bluemagiceye.com

Chartwell 02

C.W. Dixey & Son

International Royalty to British Prime Ministers have worn C.W. Dixey & Son eyewear since 1777. The Chartwell Collection (named after Winston Churchill’s country retreat in England) has recently been re-launched, including an exact replica of the frame (above) which Churchill wore, particularly when giving speeches. The dots on the temple tips were created uniquely for the great man, and enabled him to distinguish his various frames for reading, painting, even card playing. Expertly crafted in luxurious black acetate, the frame continues to be favoured by eyewear connoisseurs. Available in Paris at Les Plus Belles Lunettes du Monde. www.lesplusbelleslunettesdumonde.com www.cwdixeyandson.com JG

Princeton

Leisure Society

Superior materials – titanium and plated gold in 12K, 18K, or 24K,  – highlight this beautiful frame by Shane Baum. The multi-dimensional laser etching on titanium and the rim wire, plus elegant enamel inserts, add to the luxurious look and feel of Princeton (above). Every little detail is meticulous, further expressing the beauty and craftsmanship. With its classic design, this is an heirloom frame, one that will stand the test of time and fashion. www.leisure-society.com JG

Mainstage

Jeremy Tarian

Paris based Jeremy Tarian is inspired by the vitality and vibrancy of New York City for his new collection – frames that simmer with the energy and edginess for which the city is renowned. Brown and black combine handsomely in Mainstage (above) in an acetate design that exudes strength and character. It’s also striking in black and red, or black with chrome. www.jeremytarian.com JG
