Robert and Paul, from RVS by V., give a hint of what’s coming up from designer Vidal Erkohen for Autumn/Winter 14/15. Taking inspiration from the late 80s, the styles showcase a new direction in metal/acetate frame combos. The bridge is a detailed gold piece which is screwed in to the acetate with the RVS by V. signature hand painted red screws. The marbling effect and white flecks in each of the bright tones recall the depth of colour and pattern in moire silk. The slight lift on this pretty oval shape gives a very desirable vintage edge. Parisian eyewear designer Jérémy Tarian conducts Master Classes for selected students at HEAD-Genève (Geneva University of Art and Design/Switzerland). The Workshop’s theme requires students to use acetate as if it were a piece of jewellery to create a frame. Under Jérémy’s wise guidance, the glamorous winning concept was awarded to Camille Dols with Precious, an acetate frame embellished with metal cut-outs that evoke the shape of cut gemstones. There is a Limited Edition of only 75 pieces per colour worldwide. This is Tarian’s first collaboration with HEAD-Genève for Tarian +. www.jeremytarian.com JG
